Irish National Dairy Show delighted to welcome Swiss Judge, Erhard Junker, to the 2019 Show on Saturday 19th October

The National Dairy Show is delighted to announce that Erhard Junker will judge the 2019 National Dairy Show in Millstreet on Saturday 19th October.

Erhard, 41 is married to Corinne and together with their three daughters live in Iffwil, a small village in the Canton of Bern, Switzerland.

He owns a cattle trade company with his brother Marc and his father Samuel, where about 8,000 to 10,000 cows are traded every year.  His main activity is the purchase and sale of dairy cows, for this activity he spends at least 4 days a week every week driving through Switzerland and buying the animals directly on the farms.

Many exhibition winners in Switzerland were bought by Erhard as young cows and then sold to other show herds, where they brought them to success. These cows include Decrousaz Iron O'Kalibra and Suard Red Jordan Irene, to name two famous examples.

In addition to cattle trading, Erhard and Marc run a farm with c. 60 hectares of land and about eighty cows and heifers. The farm also has a small herd of show animals under the name Mattenhof Holsteins, the barn where, for example, the last two European champions Galys-Vray and DuRahun Chelios Heline came from.

The National Dairy Show greatly appreciate that Erhard has taken time out of his busy schedule to judge our Show in Millstreet and look forward to welcoming him to Cork for the 37th Show.
