TV Chef, David Rice will host a cooking demonstrations focusing on recipes that promote the best of
Irish beef and dairy at this year’s National Dairy Show taking place on Saturday 21st October in the
Green Glens Arena, Millstreet.
With several accolades to his name including “Best Chef”, David is a welcome addition to this annual
event and we are delighted that David has come on board to share his culinary expertise. With over 15
years of experience working in a variety of prestigious kitchens including Roly’s Bistro in Ballsbridge,
Gordon Ramsay’s Claridges, River Café and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen in Cornwall, David is now the Executive
Chef at Ballinacurra House Kinsale and co-founder of the Kinsale Gourmet Academy. Before joining
Ballinacurra House in 2013, David spent 2 years working as head tutor at Dublin’s premier cookery
school, Cooks Academy and prior to this worked as a senior chef at Dublin’s Michelin star restaurant
Chapter One. He has worked with many of Ireland’s top chefs such chefs as Ross Lewis, Oliver Dunne,
Stephen Gibson, Paul Flynn and Kevin Dundon and most recently, David has given a variety of cookery
demonstrations on RTE’s The Today Show.
The National Dairy Show focuses on showcasing the best of the agriculture industry in Ireland and as
part of these efforts, an Artisan Food Village was launched last year to celebrate our food producers and
it is great news that the Village is to make a welcome return for this year’s event, indeed “food grown
with passion always tastes better,” says David, “it is great to be able promote our local Artisan
producers”.
“As Show Director, I would like to extend a Céad mile Fáilte to David and all food village exhibitors and
hope your trip to Millstreet will be both enjoyable and rewarding”, John Kirby, Director of the National
Dairy Show said at the recent Press Launch for the Show and this year sees several award-winning
producers including UMMERA Smokehouse, Rosscarbery Recipes, Master Craft Butcher Pat O’Leary,
Hyde Whiskey, Rosscarbery Fish Deli, Clonakilty Food Company and many more on the day. All of the
artisan producers will be included in cookery demonstrations which will run throughout the day so
make sure you don’t miss your chance to experience a variety of food including buffalo burgers and
even meet Johnny Lynch’s buffalo star of its own TV ad!
